WHY SHOULD NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT NOT BE PAYING SOME WORKERS THEIR SALARIES TO HAVE A COMFORTABLE PERIOD DURING THIS YELUTIDE PERIOD

Punch newspaper of today, Friday, 19th December, 2014 in its cover page has just reported that some workers of the Nigerian government are not going to celebrate the yuletide with their salaries.  According to the newspaper, drastic fall in oil money in international market is responsible for this, citing reduction in of N36.6b from N536.69bn received in October and N500.07bn in November in oil revenue as the reason for this.

The newspaper made us know that some government workers have not being paying since October and are likely to face the same problem in December.

My quarrel with this development is that what have been doing with the money when we had the surplus.  Does it mean we didn't plan for it or its embezzlement and other fraudulent practice?  Or is this not affecting the politician themselves.  We demand an explanation for this.

To me our problem lies on the poor management and misappropriation of priority.  Or glut or no oil glut how do you explain the sum of N9.2bn already earmarked by the same government to buy stoves for rural women.  Is this more important than owing policy implementers their due salaries?  This calls for serious digestion; therefore, go and read the Punch newspaper of Punch of 19th December 2014 for further information.
