FOUR WAYS TO KNOW WHEN IT IS HIGH TIME FOR YOU TO QUIT A JOB

In one of my previous articles, we were looking at the circumstances that can limit your chances of getting promotion at work.  Thus when this happen what is the way out?  Is one going to remain stagnant forever?  The answer is very simply!  If it is impossible to move forward your career ladder, there should be away of redressing one step because life must continue and if you don’t take the bold step of leaving the job, it will come to a time when the job will have to leave you.  This takes us to the high time to start looking for job elsewhere.  This includes when there is no sign that the company is going to overcome its financial crisis in the foreseeable future; when you discover that your continued presence is no long valuable; your jobs are now being assigned to somebody else; failing health and you observe your supporting staffs are being transfer without any reasonable excuse.

  • When there is no sign that the company is going to overcome its financial crisis in the foreseeable future.

If you observe your company is experiencing a very serious recession and from the look of things there is no way you can survive the measures to be put in place by the management in other to revamp it.  Or it’s likely the company is heading towards liquidation, you better start planning your exist.  Wherever you decided to go the number of years you have already put in there is going to assets.  This decision is better than waiting until the whole thing collapse which may eventually lead to depression and frustration

  • When you discover that your continued presence is no long valuable

If it begins to occur to you that you are no long getting the recognition you deserve, financially and promotionally.  In spite of your additional qualification, experience, and dedication to work, you are not giving consideration for promotion instead the people you senior are being considered without any explanation.  You should know that it’s high time for you to leave.  This view was also shared by Patricia Lenkov, Executive Recruiter at the New York base Agility Executive Search, when he says being pass over for a promotion is a signal of not being in the company’s priority list and calls it a time for reevaluation.

  • Your jobs are now being assigned to somebody else

The moment  you begin to notice a gradual reduction in your job duties or some of work you have been handling before bare being contracted out or given to your subordinate without  explanation or suddenly, you observe that some of your staff are being taking away without replacement.  All this thing is happening without your knowledge are strong indication for you to begin looking for work elsewhere.

  • Failing Health

  • The moment you begin to experience health failure that start manifesting in your productivity, is an indication of high time to resign and go and take care of yourself.  Two things are going to happen here, one, you will no long be physically fit to perform your duty like before hence experiencing decline in your productivity that is going to be a loss to the company and secondly is going to be addition cost to the company in terms of health bill and no company is going to entertain this for some time, especially this present time of stiff competition.  Therefore by the time you start noticing decline in your health and you try all possible diagnostic means with no improvement.  May be is serious more than you think.  Quit your job and go and take care of your health.  When there is health, there will hope and there will be new job. Therefore consider quitting your job for paying attention to the ill health.
