You may be lucky to
have a job which does not end there because there I still need to ensure that
you are promoted as at when due. Getting
promotion at work nowadays depends on your efforts and
struggling to have it
unlike in those days that it used to be automatic. Therefore, prepare and educate yourself adequately
and skillfully to move the next job ladder at work. It means you have to be consistently
hardworking, networking your intension and prepared to be flexible in your
approach to it.
At work, it is very
important to demonstrate how hardworking you are. This will illustrate how much you have
mastered your current job career that will determine your promotionability.
This will simply show better results over time and through rising scores on the
annual performance evaluations which form the yardstick for the promotion
exercise. One of the practical
experiences is being able to on time to provide valuable input at all the
employee meetings.
The next quickest way
to get the job promotion is through networking.
This is what I call "it's who you know and not what you know
sometimes". Although knowing as
much as you can in your job will only help to stand you out among other
competing co-workers. Therefore,
networking at the company outings with higher level executives who can easily
influence the personnel unit on your behalf will a long way to get you the
desired job career.
Other noted fastest
method is your preparedness for relocation.
Big companies that have branches across the country and sometimes there
is a need to get somebody to go and head some of these branches. You may be considered for this post with your
flexibility posture and willingness to relocate to small towns to go and head
the business unit. Sometimes, those
small towns are undesirable but can set you apart because it will convince the
management that you were willing and ready to do what others were not. This will sever as very important
notification for promotion to the higher level.
If you are able to
incorporate all these variables into your working techniques there is no way
you cannot be considered for promotion if opportunity surfaces.
